Hi, I'm Adeen.

I find systems interesting. How growth happens, how the body keeps itself going, what heat does to food. This site is where I keep what I'm working on and thinking about.

Writing

I write about whatever I'm thinking about. Sometimes that's how the body works, sometimes it's an anomaly I can't explain, food, or the financial system.

Finished pieces go up on my Substack, Two Decade Child.

Notes

What I'm thinking about and studying, pinned as I go.

Kitchen

I film food and try to make it feel cinematic. I'm also developing my own recipes, based on what I've learned about how ingredients behave.

More to come.

Study

I'm finishing a bachelor's in philosophy. Next, I'm switching to medicine and molecular genetics.

What pulls me in is two layers of biology. One is the genetic instructions. The other is the proteins and cells built from them, and what happens when that process goes wrong. Most of medicine sits on top of that, and I want to understand it from the bottom.

I don't only want to treat patients. I want to be a clinician who also does research, and eventually do a PhD in molecular medicine alongside clinical training. Philosophy turns out to be decent preparation. It taught me to sit with hard questions, and medicine is full of them.

Work

I've worked in growth for about five years. I started in sales at 2Sure, opening up new markets. In crypto, I did content and growth at Sherpa, co-led Monad Nigerianad, and worked on growth at Touchmarket.

I care about understanding growth from first principles, meaning what actually makes something spread. If you understand that well enough, you can engineer it.

Right now I'm building a growth research practice, and I'm open to growth roles. You can see my work in detail.
